somewhere2stay limited is a sister company of Cosmos Holidays plc, the UK's largest independent tour operator and part of the Globus group of companies, a family run organisation established in 1928 which encompasses Cosmos Tourama, Avro, Monarch Airlines and Archers Direct along with Cosmos.
With over 40 years' experience, Cosmos is one of the most established names in the travel industry. Having started out offering holidays to just a few Mediterranean destinations, Cosmos now takes over half a million people to over 35 destinations around the world each year. somewhere2stay.com is still here of course, and all the regular accommodation that you can book through your favourite Travel Agent will continue under the much-loved somewhere2stay.com brand.

Booking Accommodation Through Monarch Hotels
Monarch Hotels offers you great value online booking for holiday hotels, villas, apartments & all-inclusive accommodation in destinations throughout the world. Monarch Hotels acts as a booking agent on behalf of accommodation providers in those destinations, which means that when you book accommodation through Monarch Hotels your contract is with the accommodation provider concerned (e.g. the hotel, apartment or villa owner). Please see our Booking Conditions for further information. However, at Monarch Hotels, with many of the properties that we feature, you have the choice of paying a small supplement that will ensure that your accommodation contract is with our sister company, Cosmos Holidays plc.
Principal Assured
Whilst acting as agent on behalf of the many accommodation suppliers we feature, Monarch Hotels also acts as agent for Cosmos Holidays plc. Cosmos Holidays plc is a member of the Association of British Travel Agents - ABTA (ABTA Membership Number V0531). For a supplement of £10 per person you have the peace of mind of knowing that your accommodation contract is with Monarch Hotels’s sister company, Cosmos Holidays plc. That means that in the event you have a claim or complaint this will be dealt with by Cosmos. Our Booking Conditions deal with Cosmos’s liability when you purchase Principal Assured through us, though the below table sets out some of the key differences between a booking with Principal Assured and a booking without this extra.

Diamond Ratings
Official ratings are set by relevant overseas authorities (where applicable), but unfortunately do not represent a consistent way of comparing accommodation standards from one country to the next. Therefore, Monarch Hotels has established its own Diamond ratings to help you choose. These are based on our own knowledge and take into account facilities, food, service and location as well as characteristic differences between hotels and apartments. The ratings are given on a scale 2-5 Diamonds and represent a range from basic good value without frills to above average with extra comfort. Not all accommodation within the same rating will necessarily offer the same facilities.
